We fully understand the need for new companies to conserve cash in the first few years and to spend it on growing their business.  Accordingly, we look to identify the most cost-effective and tailored ways of protecting technological or product brands, including use of the International system of registering marks, commonly referred to as the Madrid Protocol.  Where we think that expenditure is not required (where, for example, it is likely that the company’s key technology is likely to be re-branded if acquired by a larger company), we will tell new companies just that.
