Julian has a degree
in Engineering from Cambridge University. He joined the firm in 1974, became a Partner in 1982, and Senior Partner in 2011. He has been based in the west since the firm's Bath
office was opened in 1984 and has overall responsibility in the Bath and Cardiff
offices for patent work in the mechanical, electronic and other related areas.
He specialises in mechanical and electrical engineering, and his experience
includes some substantial patent litigation and the filing, prosecution and
successful enforcement of trade marks worldwide. He frequently advises on
patent and trade mark portfolio management, strategy and licensing, and related
matters. He also lectures on intellectual property, often to introduce the
subject to audiences with no specialist knowledge of the subject.
Julian, whilst based in the Bath office, also spends a significant proportion
of his time in the firm's Cardiff office.
