The Abel & Imray Engineering Group is a multi-disciplinary practice group offering Intellectual Property services in all fields of engineering and mechanical technologies. Our professionals have a wide variety of technical backgrounds, and many of them have experience in industry and/or university research. Attorneys in the Group have particular expertise in aerospace engineering (including flight systems, aerodynamics and aircraft assembly), the offshore construction industry (including vessel design and engineering aspects of the oil and gas industry), civil engineering, materials science, welding systems, and textile manufacturing and processing. This expertise is reflected in our portfolio of clients, which includes many well-known British and international companies in these fields. Whilst the field of patents is legally complex, our approachable and friendly team communicates with, and advises, engineers and managers in a clear and concise manner, thereby making the patenting process easier to handle and more effective for our clients. Group members frequently advise on other forms of protection that may sometimes supplement patent protection in this field, such as registered designs or unregistered design rights. We have an in-house translation department which has particular expertise in the translation of texts relating to subject matter in this technical area. |
